Recreation Winter 2010 Programs

 

 


 

Offering all levels of Skate Canada Programs. Skaters will earn badges and other incentives as they  learn fundamental skating skills. Sessions are given in a group format and led by our NCCP certified professional coaches. Professional coaches are assisted by our trained Program Assistants. Crowchild Sating Club offers a low student to coach ratio ( max 12:1 ) from Stage 1 to Stage 5 and Junior Prep.


PARENT & TOT:  A fun and safe environment for both parent and skater on the ice. Skaters must be at least 3 years of age and no older than 5 to participate. The basic fundamentals of skating are taught along with fun games. Lessons are 45 minutes and are offered Saturdays, Wednesday afternoons and Thursday afternoons. Cost is $130 including a $20 fundraising fee for which you will receive 10 Purdy's chocolate bars. Only 1 fundraising fee per family.


LEARN TO SKATE: Independent skaters who are ready to take to the ice. This fun program is designed for 4&5 year olds who have completed Parent & Tot lessons or who are already independent skaters but not quite ready for the Canskate program. Lessons are 45 minutes and are offered on Saturdays, Wednesday afternoons and Thursday afternoons. Cost is $130 including a $20 fundraising fee for which you will receive 10 Purdy's chocolate bars. Only 1 fundraising fee per family.


CANSKATE Stages 1-5: Skater must be at least age 5 or completed the Learn to Skate  program.  Cost $170.00 including $20 fundraising fee for which you will receive 10 Purdy's chocolate bars. Only 1 fundraising fee per family.


JUNIOR PREP: This program is an introduction to the Starskate program. Skaters must have completed Stage 5 of the Canskate program, or are CSC coach recommended for the program. A minimum of 2 ice sessions arte required. 


For the Parent and Tot, Learn to  Skate, and Stages 1-5, hockey/skiing helmets are mandatory. Bicycle helmets are not acceptable.
    

All registrants MUST hold a membership in one of Scenic Acres, Silver Springs or Varsity community associations.  You may purchase your Community Membership this time. Please note that residents of these communities have priority at registration. The CSC reserves the right to cancel any or all programs and will issue a full refund upon program cancellation or will transfer registrant to another program. CSC also reserves the right to increase the group sizes by 2 skaters due to transfers or program demand. Transferring may involve a higher fee charge. Payment is by cash or cheque only

For Junior Prep only: Private lesson coaching fees extra.  A coach must be selected within the first 2 weeks of the lessons.
